Photos!

I have been promising to put up some pictures of the snow. It's just so hard to get a good picture that shows the true depth of the snow. You can't, of course, feel how cold it is, but that's okay. Today was -6 degrees Celsius.
This first photo was taken on Tuesday morning after the big snow fall of Monday. We had the freezing rain on the Sunday night, then a bunch of snow. It snowed even more on Tuesday, but I thought this might give a pretty good idea of the drifting that occured. This is of our deck - just off the dining room. I opened the door, which is why the snow is all straight up at the very front. The A-man shoveled this off the deck this afternoon.
Today was hubby's company Christmas party for the kids. Here is a picture of S getting ready to go to the party. You can see the deck just to the upper left hand side of the photo. Hubby has used the snowblower to clear a path to the deck so that the propane truck can deliver propane for the fireplace in the basement. That is why S is not actually standing in snow that would cover his boots. I am standing on the driveway to take this photo.
Now, imagine I have turned 180 degrees from the last photo - S is now to by back, right hand side.
Here is how the snow makes the poor branches on the evergreens bend and strain. They are such hardy trees, and they really do look so pretty with the snow on them...but, the weight must be incredible.
I have tried a couple of times to download a few other pictures tonight, but for some reason the connection just isn't working all that well. I was going to put some up from the party, but maybe I will be able to do that tomorrow night.
