I am really looking forward to not having a working weekend...
But alas, that is not to be for this current weekend.
As I was getting ready for bed last night, I thought, "Oh, I'll just pack in the morning." Then, about 10 minutes later, I realized I'd already pulled all the clothes I needed out, so I just put them in to the bag.
I'm getting so used to having to pack light - and often - that I actually have a travel cosmetic bag and a bag full of necessary toiletries that I just hang on the back of the bathroom door. When it's time to pack, I grab those two things and I know I've got everything I'll need, and then some.
Actually, when I was at the Governor's conference, I used the little sewing kit thingy twice. I've travelled all over the place with that thing for almost 2 years and never needed it, then last week I used it twice in a matter of three days. Guess it's a good thing I'm a pack rat and never throw anything away.
I'm really proud of S this year. He has coped very well with my being away. I wasn't sure how that would go since we have weened him from his anxiety medication, but it would appear that he has adjusted well to that change, too.
Looking forward to getting back in touch with my friends, and hearing about what everyone's been up to. I am really looking forward to a visit with my newly bionic cuz - can't wait to see how well she's doing. I understand her physiotherapy is going well; but of course I don't get to chat with her much right now.
That will change next weekend. I won't have another show for a number of months, and those will actually be mid-week shows, so that won't even be the same.
Wow - were did February go? Looked at the calendar last night and realized that I hadn't changed it over from January! Yup - that's about right - started all this the last week of January, didn't I?
Soon life will be back to 'somewhat' normal again. Can't wait.

Growing up
The other day I did something I didn't ever think I would be able to do.
The boys and I went to the new family Y to try out the facilities. The boys went swimming while I went to a Yoga class. After Yoga, I saw the boys having a fun time playing badminton. I watched for a while. Shortly after I starting watching, a group of girls - probably aged 10 or 11 - came in to play. My boys invited them to join in.
The A-man actually took the time to show some of the girls the finer of hit the birdie. Eventually the boys saw that I was watching them and assumed that it was time to go. They knew that I need to pick up a few things at the grocery store so figured I would want to head out.
I caught the A-man's attention and told him to come to the door. When he did, I asked if they would like to stay while I went shopping. He said they were just starting a game and would really like to stay behind.
I let them. I actually left the building and went to do what I needed to do. I left them unattended at the family Y for almost 45 minutes.
That may not be a big deal to you, but for me, that was huge. I just never quite know what to expect from S when we are in a new situation, but it went fine. In fact, he wanted to go back again last night.
(I'm starting to get a head cold and begged of exercise last night, so we didn't go, but I'm hoping we can have a repeat tonight.)
My ADHD boys are growing up. They are starting to be much more consistent and reliable. Both of them! (See, the A-man has been really good for the better part of two years, but it's been a hit and miss with S.)
Wow. It's finally paying off!
